Google Sues CCI Over Android Antitrust Ruling

  • Google plans to dispute the Competition Commission of India (CCI) antitrust verdict within weeks. The tech giant was ordered to change its Android smartphone behaviour.
  • Reuters said that CCI’s antitrust mandate was broad and restricted more Google apps, which might boost regulatory efforts in other nations.
  • After the competition watchdog fined the tech titan twice for abuse of power Google was fined over INR 2,200 Cr by CCI for its Play Store and Android device monopoly.
  • Google said it is evaluating the ruling and will proceed.
