G20 Presidency prioritises crypto regulation: Sitharaman

  • On November 1, 2022, Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman stated framing digital assets was one of eight goals for the nation’s year-long G20 Presidency, which begins next month. She addressed the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).
  • She gave the main speech at ICRIER’s annual G20 Conference event. Crypto was one of the undetermined “priorities,” she claimed.
  • “No one single country can succeed in individually, being in a silo, trying to regulate the crypto assets,” Sitharaman says.
