7 people were detained after posing as CEO Adar to defraud Serum Institute of one crore.

  • Seven people were detained by Pune Police on suspicion of defrauding Serum Institute of India (SII) of  ₹1.01 crore by impersonating its CEO Adar Poonawalla.
  • Satish Deshpande, the director of SII, had previously received a WhatsApp message from a person posing as Poonawalla asking him to transfer money into various accounts.
  • According to authorities, the primary suspect in the case is still at large.
