8i Ventures closes $25 million second fund.

  • 8i Ventures, a homegrown venture capital firm, closed its second fund at $25 million, joining a growing number of private investors who have raised big India-dedicated funds amid global challenges.
  • On November 3, Slice’s sponsor announced that family offices like Salgaocars and Kothari (DSP) invested in 8i Ventures Fund-II, which also invested in the previous fund.
  • 8i Ventures Founding Partner Vikram Chachra told Moneycontrol that Fund-II will invest in 15-20 startups over the next three years (five-six new investments each year).
  • He said the $50-million fund, announced in 2021, will close in March 2023.
