Centre releases 17,000 cr GST compensation for April-June

  • According to the Ministry of Finance, the federal government on Thursday approved ₹17,000 crore for GST compensation for all states and union territories from April to June 2022.
  • In order to compensate, the Center has so far this fiscal year released ₹1,15,662 crore.
  • The government gave Maharashtra ₹2,081 crores, followed by Uttar Pradesh (₹1,202 crores) and Karnataka (₹1,915 crores).
