China closes area near largest iPhone production following Covid rise.

  • China ordered a seven-day lockdown surrounding Foxconn’s Zhengzhou iPhone facility, the world’s largest. After Tuesday’s Covid cases in Zhengzhou rose to 359 from 95, the lockdown will stay until November 9.
  • The local administration stated that all non-essential workers and Covid-prevention volunteers “must not leave their dwellings unless to obtain Covid testing and emergency medical care” and that no cars are permitted to run.
