China iPhone manufacturer quadruples worker incentives despite resentment for Covid limits.
- Apple supplier Foxconn has doubled incentives for workers at its Zhengzhou facility in central China to soothe resentment about Covid limits and retain personnel at the huge iPhone assembly location.
- According to Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant’s official WeChat account, November incentives for employees of a Foxconn unit that makes electronics like cellphones have been upped to 400 yuan ($55) from 100.
- Foxconn makes 70% of Apple’s iPhones. Zhengzhou’s 200,000 workers build majority of its phones.
