Crypto.com has acknowledged that it transmitted over $400 million in Ethereum digital currency to Gate.io by accident.
According to CEO of Crypto.com Kris Marszalek, the company unintentionally transmitted 320,000 cryptocurrencies to a “whitelisted” address that belonged to the corporate account at Gate.io when sending them to one of its offline wallets.
Over the following days, Crypto.com went on to withdraw the money back to its cold wallets.
The company stated, “Crypto.com successfully withdrew the entire amount of ETH and returned it to our cold storage.”
