Old pension plan will cost taxpayers in the future, says NITI Aayog

  • The revival of the old pension scheme (OPS), according to Suman Bery, vice chairman of NITI Aayog, will burden current and future taxpayers and citizens.
  • Bery continued, “I think political parties have to exercise discipline, since we are all working for a common cause of growth of the Indian economy,” after stating that India needs to prioritise fiscal responsibility and encourage sustainable growth.
