  • According to the US Labor Department’s report released on Thursday, consumer inflation in the US decreased to 7.7% in October from a year earlier.
  • Since January 2022, this was the smallest 12-month increase. Inflation rose by 0.4% on a monthly basis in October.
  • The data shows that while energy prices increased 17.6% over the previous year, food prices increased by 10.9%.
