- Under the production-linked incentive (PLI) plan, the Ministry of Communication has authorised 42 enterprises, including 28 MSMEs, to produce telecom and networking goods.
- The programme was authorised for international companies including Samsung, Nokia, Jabil, Rising Star, Flextronics, and local competitors like HFCL, ITI, VVDN, and Tejas Networks.
- The Economic Times said that 17 businesses out of the chosen ones had requested an additional 1% incentive based on design-led manufacturing criteria.
- These 42 companies have committed a total of Rs. 4,115 crore in investment, which is anticipated to result in the creation of over 44,000 more employment throughout the course of the plan, in addition to an increase in revenue of Rs. 2.45 lakh crore.
