- According to IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the largest unit to produce Apple’s iPhone in India will soon be built close to Hosur, an industrial city in Tamil Nadu that is also close to Bengaluru.
- It will have about 60,000 workers.
- Vaishnaw claimed, during a speech at the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas ceremony, that 6,000 tribal women living close to Ranchi and Hazaribagh had received training to build iPhones.
The largest iPhone manufacturing facility in India will open close to Hosur and employ 60,000 people.
