  • At the Global Investors Meet 2022 in Bengaluru, Wipro chairman Rishad Premji stated the Indian IT industry must identify new locations and talent sources to overcome high attrition.
  • “Covid proved that remote work can be done at scale. Premji said this would make it simpler to expand the talent pool and help women and those with impairments, who would benefit from remote employment.
  • Wipro’s voluntary attrition rate jumped to 23% for the September quarter from 20.5% a year earlier, demonstrating that IT talent demand continues to exceed supply, a pattern mirrored throughout the sector.
  • As of September 30, the Premji-led corporation had 259,179 employees after hiring 14,000 newcomers in the second quarter.
