Air India announces new flights from Chennai – Business Traveller
  1. The World Cup final notably increased domestic air traffic in India, reaching a record high of nearly 4.6 lakh flyers on Saturday, marking the highest single-day figure.
  2. Surprisingly, Diwali experienced lower daily flyer numbers, often below four lakh, due to airlines setting high advance fares, leading travelers to opt for premium train classes instead.
  3. Mumbai Airport achieved a historic milestone by handling its highest one-day traffic of 1,61,760 passengers on November 18, breaking previous records.
  4. Airlines initially increased advance booking fares for the festive season but later reduced prices during peak travel periods to attract budget-conscious travelers.
