In the past year, a total of 62 philanthropists collectively contributed a staggering sum of ₹1,547 crore, with the field of Education
  1. Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies retained his title as India’s most generous philanthropist, donating ₹2,042 crore during the fiscal year 2022-23.
  2. Azim Premji of Wipro ranked second with donations totaling ₹1,774 crore.
  3. Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, became the youngest philanthropist on the list, donating ₹110 crore.
  4. Education received the most significant philanthropic support, followed by Arts, Culture, Heritage, and Healthcare.
  5. The number of Indian philanthropists donating more than ₹5 crore increased by 59% compared to the previous year, and 62 individuals collectively contributed ₹1,547 crore.
