34,780+ Employees Laid Off By 120+ Startups Since 2022

  1. Approximately 34,785 employees were laid off by 121 Indian startups since the funding winter began in 2022.
  2. Among these layoffs, 24 edtech startups, including six of seven unicorns in the sector, accounted for 14,616 job cuts in the same period.
  3. Despite time passing, the situation remains challenging, with 15,247 more employees being fired by 69 startups in the current year.
  4. The ongoing layoffs indicate that the environment surrounding job cuts in Indian startups has not significantly improved.
