  1. Coca-Cola India has ventured into the alcoholic beverage sector for the first time by introducing Lemon-Dou, a ready-to-drink alcoholic beverage, in select regions of Goa and Maharashtra. This marks the company’s initial exploration into this market segment in India.
  2. Lemon-Dou, originating from Coca-Cola’s global portfolio, is a blend of shochu, a distilled liquor akin to brandy or vodka, combined with lime. It was first introduced in Japan in 2018, highlighting Coca-Cola’s expansion beyond traditional soft drinks.
  3. The beverage, Lemon-Dou, is reportedly being test-launched at a price of Rs 230 for a 250 ml can during its initial phase in the Indian market, signaling the company’s intent to gauge consumer response and market potential.
