Flipkart’s B2C Sales Near Rs 15,000 Cr Mark, FY23 Loss Dips To Rs 4,026 Cr

  1. Flipkart Internet, the B2C arm of Walmart-owned Flipkart, observed a significant surge in its operating revenue, nearing the INR 15,000 crore mark. The operating revenue grew by 42%, reaching INR 14,845.8 crore in FY23 compared to INR 10,477.4 crore in FY22.
  2. The primary sources of revenue for Flipkart Internet involve commission charges and other services offered to merchants, including product advertising. Total revenue, including other income, increased by 41% to INR 15,044 crore in FY23 from INR 10,640.5 crore in FY22.
  3. Despite a rise in revenue, the company managed to reduce its net loss. The net loss declined by 9% to INR 4,026.5 crore in FY23 from INR 4,419.5 crore in FY22.
  4. However, total expenditure surged to INR 19,043 crore in FY23. ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) costs accounted for INR 2,155 crore among the expenses incurred during the fiscal year.
