Google's GitHub Copilot competitor is now generally available and will soon  use the Gemini model | TechCrunch
  1. Google’s Duet AI for Developers, an AI-powered assistance suite for code completion and generation, is now generally available.
  2. It will leverage Google’s more powerful Gemini model for enhanced capabilities in the upcoming weeks.
  3. Aimed at easing developer toil, Google emphasizes AI’s role in removing boilerplate code and enhancing the coding experience, catering to the tools developers already use.
  4. Google stresses that AI coding tools, while enhancing productivity, won’t replace coding skills but will augment developers’ efficiency.
  5. Currently free until January 2024, it will cost $19 per user per month with an annual commitment thereafter.
