Inflows from PE, VC funds to domestic companies plunge to $27.9 billion in 2023

Inflow From Private Equity, Venture Capital Funds To Domestic Companies  Plunge To $27.9 Billion
  1. Private equity and venture capital investments into Indian companies dropped by approximately 40% to USD 27.9 billion in the current year. This decline was observed across 697 transactions compared to the USD 47.62 billion across 1,364 deals in the previous year.
  2. Concurrently, the outflow of investments increased slightly to USD 19.34 billion from 248 companies, up from USD 18.45 billion in 2022 from 233 exits.
  3. Industry experts anticipate a rebound in funding in the coming year, seeing promising signs of renewed inflows despite the slowdown in the current year.
  4. In addition, venture capitalists withdrew USD 3.5 billion through 79 exits in 2023 compared to the outflow of USD 3.1 billion from 113 companies the previous year.
