Microsoft To Hike Prices Of Software, Services In India
  1. Microsoft India increased the prices of its commercial on-premises software and online services, such as Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365, by 20% in February 2022. This was the first price hike in nearly a decade.
  2. This hike came amidst a surge in adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the pandemic.
  3. Subsequently, there was another increase in prices, this time by 6%, effective from February 1 of an unspecified year.
  4. These consecutive hikes are attributed to align pricing between India and the Asian region amid challenging global economic pressures.
  5. Despite the price increases, Microsoft India has experienced notable growth in operating revenue, which stood at INR 19,229.4 Crore in FY23, marking a 1.2X increase from INR 13,819.5 Crore in FY22.
