  1. Haptik, a part of Reliance Jio Infocomm, unveiled ‘Contakt,’ a dedicated platform for clients to construct virtual assistants and backend support using generative-AI technology.
  2. ‘Contakt’ has already commenced pilot deployments with notable entities such as brokerage firm Upstox, e-commerce platform Tira, Starbucks, and the Indian School of Business.
  3. The market demand for more sophisticated chatbots and assistants, as opposed to basic conversation platforms, motivated Haptik to establish a separate vertical focusing on this generative AI platform.
  4. ‘Contakt’ facilitates text, audio, and image queries through chat interfaces, employing OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 models. Clients can access multiple Language Learning Models (LLMs) based on their discretion.
  5. Although presently restricted to text and image queries, the platform is not yet equipped for audio-based queries via phone calls. However, support for this feature is anticipated to be rolled out in 2024.
