Unicorn NoBroker spent Rs 2.08 to earn a rupee in FY22

NoBroker.com raises $10M series B funding, plans to expand to 20 cities
  1. NoBroker observed a significant increase in its operating scale, with revenue from operations surging by 96.4% to Rs 326 crore in FY22 from Rs 166 crore in FY21.
  2. As a real estate platform, NoBroker facilitates direct connections between property owners and tenants, eliminating the need for brokers. Its primary revenue stream comes from the sale of subscription plans.
  3. In addition to revenue from operations, NoBroker reported non-operating income of Rs 43.95 crore, derived from interest on fixed deposits and gains on investments/mutual funds, totaling its income to Rs 370 crore in FY22.
  4. Employee benefits constituted 39% of the total expenditure, rising by 47.2% to Rs 262 crore in FY22. The company also reported Rs 366 crore as miscellaneous expenses, likely covering areas such as advertisements, payment gateways, and other overheads.
  5. Despite growth in revenue, NoBroker’s losses surged by 62.6% to Rs 309 crore in FY22 compared to Rs 190 crore in FY21. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -16% and -80% respectively, and it spent Rs 2.08 to earn a rupee in FY22.
