Zepto claims 2nd spot in monthly active customers, surpasses JioMart

  1. Zepto, a Bengaluru-based quick-commerce app, has surged ahead of JioMart in November, securing the second position among grocery apps in terms of monthly usage.
  2. Zepto’s growth in daily average users (DAU) and monthly average users (MAU) has seen significant improvement, showcasing an 8% increase in DAU and a 10% rise in MAU compared to the previous month.
  3. In contrast, JioMart experienced a sharp decline of 21% in DAU and 17% in MAU during the same period from their record-high base in October.
  4. Zepto has maintained the top position in DAU since June 2023, showing consistent month-on-month growth, outpacing competitors like Blinkit.
  5. Zepto is targeting annual sales of $1 billion and processes between 300,000 to 400,000 orders daily with an average order size of Rs 400 to Rs 500.
  6. Zepto plans to expand its Zepto Café service to more cities, offering quick delivery of grocery and food items like tea, coffee, and croissants.
  7. Disney+ Hotstar witnessed a surge in usage during the World Cup, achieving over 93 million DAU and 474 million MAU in November, surpassing other OTT platforms like Jio Cinema, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Zee5.
  8. Other competitors in the grocery delivery segment, such as BigBasket and DMart Ready, experienced declines in MAU in November.
