  1. Zomato has become the most valuable company in the Indian startup ecosystem with a market capitalization of $15.29 billion.
  2. Its share price rose by 5% at the start of trading on Friday, reaching Rs 145.40 apiece, nearly double its listing price of Rs 76 in 2021.
  3. The company reported a net profit of Rs 138 crore for the third quarter of FY24, rebounding from a loss of Rs 347 crore in the same period last year.
  4. Zomato’s rival, Swiggy, is the second most valuable company in the Indian startup ecosystem, valued at around $8 billion.
  5. Other startups like Paytm and BYJU’S have seen significant drops in their valuations due to regulatory issues and cash shortages, respectively.
  6. Swiggy and Razorpay are the next most valued unicorns after Zomato, with valuations of $8.3 billion and $7.5 billion, respectively.
  7. The Indian startup ecosystem comprises 112 unicorns, with the majority valued below $5 billion.
