Zomato posts Rs 3,288 Cr revenue and Rs 138 Cr profit in Q3 FY24

  1. Zomato released its financial results for Q3 FY24, showing decent growth in scale and a 3.8X jump in profits.
  2. Revenue from operations grew by 15.4% to Rs 3,288 crore compared to Rs 2,848 crore in Q2 FY24 and by 68.8% from Rs 1,948 crore in Q3 FY23.
  3. Zomato operates various units including a food marketplace, Hyperpure, Blinkit, dining.out, and Zomato Live.
  4. 51.8% of its total operating revenue came from the food ordering and delivery business, which grew by 10.2% to Rs 1,704 crore in Q3 FY24.
  5. Collections from Hyperpure supplies increased by 15.3% to Rs 859 crore, while Blinkit contributed Rs 644 crore to the group’s revenue.
  6. Non-operating income, mainly from interest and gains on financial assets, totaled Rs 219 crore, resulting in overall revenue crossing Rs 3,500 crore.
  7. Expenses included delivery and related charges, purchase of stock, employee benefits, and advertising, totaling Rs 3,383 crore in Q3 FY24.
  8. Profits jumped 3.8X to Rs 138 crore in Q3 FY24 compared to Rs 36 crore in the previous quarter and Rs 347 crore in losses in Q3 FY23.
  9. Zomato’s unit economics showed it spent Rs 1.03 to earn a rupee in Q3 FY24.
  10. For the nine months ended in Dec 2024, Zomato recorded Rs 8,552 crore revenue from operations with a profit of Rs 176 crore.
  11. Zomato made its public market debut in July 2021 at a valuation of $12 billion and experienced fluctuations in its share price, with the current price around Rs 144 per share.
