Lenskart Solutions reported a strong financial performance for the second quarter of FY27, with consolidated revenue from operations increasing 35.7% year-on-year to ₹2,845 crore. The eyewear retailer’s net profit surged 124.7% to ₹232.45 crore, compared with ₹103.45 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, as stronger sales and improving operating efficiency supported its growth.
The September-quarter results reflect expansion across both domestic and international markets, higher eyewear volumes and increasing demand for premium products. Lenskart also reported improvements in same-store sales, manufacturing capacity and international profitability, indicating that its growth is increasingly supported by its integrated retail and manufacturing operations.
Lenskart Q2 FY27 Financial Results
Lenskart’s revenue growth was accompanied by a faster increase in profitability. Consolidated profit after tax more than doubled, while profit before tax increased 106% year-on-year to ₹304.48 crore.
Total income, including other income, reached ₹2,899.49 crore during the quarter.
Key financial results:
| Financial metric | Q2 FY27 | Q2 FY26 | YoY growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | ₹2,845.03 Cr | ₹2,096.14 Cr | 35.7% |
| Total income | ₹2,899.49 Cr | ₹2,129.40 Cr | 36.2% |
| Profit before tax | ₹304.48 Cr | ₹148.00 Cr | 106% |
| Net profit | ₹232.45 Cr | ₹103.45 Cr | 124.7% |
| Basic EPS | ₹1.31 | ₹0.61 | 115% |
The company also improved its performance sequentially. Revenue from operations increased 4.8% from ₹2,714.18 crore in Q1 FY27, while net profit rose 1.8% from ₹228.43 crore.
The figures indicate that Lenskart maintained its growth momentum even after delivering a strong first quarter.
EBITDA Increases 65% as Operating Margins Improve
Lenskart’s operating performance also strengthened during the quarter.
According to Business Standard, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 65% year-on-year to ₹392 crore, compared with ₹237 crore in Q2 FY26.
The EBITDA margin expanded to 13.8% from 11.1% a year earlier.
The improvement reflects the benefits of higher sales volumes, manufacturing integration and operating efficiencies.
Lenskart operates across several parts of the eyewear value chain, including product design, manufacturing, distribution and retail. Greater control over these activities can help the company manage costs, improve product availability and maintain margins.
Total expenses increased approximately 31% to ₹2,596.8 crore, slower than the growth in revenue. This difference helped support the sharp increase in net profit.
India Business Revenue Grows 35.5%
India remained Lenskart’s largest market and an important contributor to its quarterly performance.
Revenue from the domestic business increased 35.5% year-on-year to ₹1,668 crore, supported by higher eyewear volumes and demand for premium lenses.
Eyewear volumes in India grew 26.5%, while same-store sales growth accelerated to 20.8%, compared with 14.8% in the year-ago quarter.
Same-store sales growth measures the increase in sales at existing retail locations, excluding the impact of newly opened stores. The improvement suggests that Lenskart is generating stronger business from its established retail network, rather than relying entirely on expansion.
The company added 143 net new stores in India during the quarter, including 94 in Tier 2 and smaller cities. It also entered 61 new cities.
At the end of September 2026, Lenskart operated 2,868 stores across 665 Indian cities.
The expansion highlights the company’s strategy of taking organised eyewear retail beyond major metropolitan markets.
International Business Adds to Revenue Growth
Lenskart’s international operations also delivered strong growth during Q2 FY27.
International revenue increased 29.5% year-on-year to ₹1,201 crore, supported by business across Japan, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other markets.
On a constant-currency basis, international revenue growth was approximately 23%, while eyewear volumes increased 29.7%.
International profitability improved even faster than revenue.
International EBITDA increased 86.8% to ₹127 crore, with the segment’s EBITDA margin expanding to 10.6% from 7.3% in the corresponding quarter last year.
This marked the second consecutive quarter in which international EBITDA margins remained above 10%.
Lenskart added 22 net new international stores during the quarter, taking its global retail network to 3,624 stores.
Of the new locations, 12 were opened in Southeast Asia, three in the Middle East, two in Japan and five in other markets.
The international business is becoming an increasingly important contributor to Lenskart’s overall growth and profitability.
Manufacturing Expansion Helps Protect Margins
Lenskart’s manufacturing capabilities are another important part of its business strategy.
The company maintained its consolidated product margin at 70%, compared with 69.2% a year earlier, despite continued depreciation of the Indian rupee.
In-house frame manufacturing increased 71.7% year-on-year, while lens manufacturing grew 52.2%.
Greater in-house production gives Lenskart more control over product quality, supply chains and manufacturing costs. It can also reduce dependence on external suppliers as the company expands its retail network.
Its Bhiwadi manufacturing facility uses automated production processes, robotics and AI-enabled quality checks.
Lenskart is also investing in a new facility in Hyderabad to support future production requirements and international expansion.
The company’s manufacturing strategy is particularly important because currency movements and global supply-chain costs can affect the profitability of eyewear retailers that depend heavily on imported products.
Eye Tests and Lenskart Gold Memberships Expand
Alongside retail and manufacturing growth, Lenskart reported higher engagement with its eye-care services and customer membership programme.
The company conducted approximately 80 lakh eye tests globally during the quarter, representing a 40.4% increase year-on-year.
Its remote optometry service was available in 934 stores across India, compared with 303 stores a year earlier.
Remote optometry allows customers to access eye-testing services through technology-enabled systems, helping the company expand access to vision care across its retail network.
Lenskart Gold, the company’s membership programme, also crossed one crore active members in India.
The programme had approximately 1.03 crore active members at the end of the quarter, up 38.6% year-on-year.
The growth in memberships could help the company strengthen customer retention and encourage repeat purchases.
Lenskart also expanded the availability of its B smart glasses to more than 500 stores across India and online during the quarter.
H1 FY27 Revenue Reaches ₹5,559 Crore
Lenskart’s strong second-quarter performance contributed to healthy growth during the first half of FY27.
For the six months ended September 2026, the company reported revenue of ₹5,559 crore, representing 33% year-on-year growth.
Net profit reached ₹461 crore, equivalent to approximately 87% of the company’s full-year FY26 profit.
The company also generated ₹388 crore in operating cash flow during H1 FY27, compared with capital expenditure of ₹187 crore on stores, refurbishments and remote optometry.
Return on capital employed improved to 22.5% in H1 FY27 from 14.6% in FY26.
Over the trailing 12 months, Lenskart’s revenue crossed ₹10,000 crore, reflecting its growing scale across domestic and international markets.
The Bigger Picture
Lenskart’s Q2 FY27 results highlight how organised eyewear retail is evolving in India and international markets. The company is combining physical stores, online sales, technology-enabled eye care and in-house manufacturing to build an integrated business model.
Its domestic growth demonstrates the opportunity in smaller Indian cities, where demand for organised eyewear and accessible vision-care services continues to expand. International growth and improving overseas margins also suggest that Lenskart’s business is becoming less dependent on the Indian market alone.
The sharp increase in profitability is particularly important because it indicates that revenue expansion is translating into stronger earnings. However, continued store expansion, manufacturing investments and international operations will require disciplined capital allocation to maintain that performance.
Looking Ahead
Lenskart is expected to continue investing in retail expansion, manufacturing capacity, technology and international markets. Its growing presence in smaller Indian cities, increasing membership base and expansion of remote optometry could support further customer acquisition and repeat purchases. The upcoming Hyderabad manufacturing facility may also provide additional capacity as the business scales.
The key challenge will be sustaining profitable growth while managing operating costs, currency fluctuations and the expenses associated with international expansion. If Lenskart maintains its improving margins and continues generating strong operating cash flow, it could strengthen its position in the global eyewear market. Its Q2 FY27 performance provides a positive indication of its growth momentum, although future results will determine whether the company can sustain this pace.
