PowerUp Money secures fresh $10 million funding

PowerUp Money has raised $10 million in a funding round led by Flourish Ventures as the wealthtech startup looks to expand its AI-led investment advisory and wealth management services.

The round also includes participation from existing investors Peak XV Partners, Accel, Blume Ventures, Kae Capital, 8i Ventures and DeVC. Founder and CEO Prateek Jindal told The Economic Times that the transaction values the company at approximately $73 million.

The Bengaluru-based company intends to use the capital to develop its AI-powered wealth management platform, expand its managed advisory business and reach more retail investors.

Jindal described the financing as an extension of the company’s previous funding round rather than a conventional large growth round. He expects the fresh capital to provide approximately three years of runway, giving the startup time to strengthen its products and move towards profitability before accelerating expansion.

What does PowerUp Money do?

Founded by fintech entrepreneur Prateek Jindal, who previously co-founded Uni Cards, PowerUp Money is building a digital platform for mutual fund research, investment advice and wealth management.

The startup initially attracted users through free mutual fund portfolio tracking and research tools. Customers could connect their investment information and monitor the performance of their holdings through the platform.

PowerUp says it now has more than 1.5 million customers tracking mutual fund portfolios worth over ₹2.5 lakh crore.

This is an important distinction: the ₹2.5 lakh crore represents the value of portfolios tracked through the platform, not the company’s own assets under management or the amount of money it directly controls.

The company is now attempting to move beyond portfolio tracking and become a broader wealth management platform that combines automated advice with human financial advisers.

Three products form its wealth management strategy

PowerUp is developing its business through three main offerings: Elite, Elite Prime and Infinite.

ProductMain offeringTarget customer
PowerUp EliteMutual fund research and subscription-based investment adviceRetail mutual fund investors
Elite PrimeAI-enabled digital wealth management and financial planningInvestors seeking personalised digital advice
InfiniteManaged wealth advisory with dedicated relationship managersInvestors with portfolios of ₹50 lakh or more

1. Elite: Paid mutual fund advisory

PowerUp Elite is the company’s subscription-based mutual fund advisory product. It helps investors identify underperforming funds, review their portfolios and make investment decisions.

The annual subscription is priced at approximately ₹1,000, according to Moneycontrol.

The product has attracted around 1.25 lakh customers, with the average subscriber reportedly holding a portfolio worth ₹40–50 lakh.

The company says Elite subscribers return to the platform around 15–20 times a month. This engagement gives PowerUp opportunities to build customer relationships and introduce additional wealth management services.

2. Elite Prime: AI-powered wealth management

Elite Prime is PowerUp’s AI-enabled digital wealth advisory offering.

The product is designed to provide several functions traditionally associated with a human wealth manager, including:

  • Investor risk profiling.
  • Personalised asset allocation.
  • SIP and lump-sum investment planning.
  • Portfolio rebalancing.
  • Withdrawal planning.
  • Identification of portfolio gaps and diversification opportunities.

The platform also includes an AI wealth coach and personal assistant intended to help customers understand recommendations and interact with their financial plans.

The objective is to reduce the cost of delivering personalised financial advice. Traditional wealth management often requires human relationship managers, which can make comprehensive services expensive for investors with smaller portfolios.

PowerUp is attempting to use software and AI models to serve more customers without increasing its adviser workforce at the same rate.

However, the quality of automated recommendations, suitability for individual investors and regulatory compliance will be important factors as the product expands.

3. Infinite: Managed wealth advisory

Infinite is PowerUp’s more hands-on wealth management service. It combines financial planning, portfolio construction, asset allocation and ongoing portfolio management with dedicated relationship managers.

The service is aimed at customers with portfolios of ₹50 lakh and above.

According to Jindal, Infinite has accumulated nearly ₹500 crore in assets under management within approximately nine months of launch.

The company currently has around 10 relationship managers supporting this business and is adding approximately ₹100 crore in AUM every month, according to Moneycontrol.

Jindal said demand is currently greater than the company’s ability to serve customers because it does not have enough relationship managers. Expanding this team is therefore one of the priorities for the fresh funding.

Why PowerUp is investing heavily in AI

The wealth management industry has traditionally relied on financial advisers who understand a customer’s income, financial goals, investment horizon and risk tolerance before recommending a portfolio.

This approach can provide personalised support, but it is expensive to scale. Relationship managers can only handle a limited number of customers, making comprehensive advice less accessible to people with smaller investment portfolios.

PowerUp believes AI can help address this limitation by automating parts of the advisory process.

Its Elite Prime product aims to combine financial assessment, portfolio analysis and investment planning through digital tools. An AI coach then acts as an interface through which customers can understand and engage with recommendations.

The company is not eliminating human advisers altogether. Its Infinite product continues to use dedicated relationship managers for customers seeking managed wealth services.

This creates a hybrid model: automated advice for a broader retail audience and human-supported wealth management for customers with larger portfolios.

The business challenge will be maintaining recommendation quality, transparency and customer trust as the platform scales.

PowerUp plans to expand beyond mutual funds

PowerUp initially built its business around mutual fund tracking and advisory. It now plans to expand into additional asset classes, including stocks and exchange-traded funds.

The company has also indicated longer-term interest in products such as portfolio management services and alternative investment funds.

Expanding into multiple asset classes could increase the range of financial needs the platform can serve. It may also help the company generate more revenue from existing customers rather than depending entirely on new user acquisition.

However, each additional product category brings different regulatory, operational and technology requirements. Investment advice and managed services also need to meet the applicable Securities and Exchange Board of India regulations.

The company’s expansion will therefore depend on its ability to build products that are useful to customers while maintaining appropriate compliance and risk controls.

Flourish Ventures and existing investors back the strategy

Flourish Ventures led the latest funding round, joining a group of existing investors that have supported PowerUp’s earlier development.

The participation of Peak XV, Accel, Blume Ventures, Kae Capital, 8i Ventures and DeVC indicates continued investor support for the company’s strategy.

PowerUp previously raised $12 million in a funding round led by Peak XV Partners in December 2025, with participation from existing investors.

The latest $10 million financing is an extension of that earlier funding effort, according to Jindal.

For Flourish Ventures, the investment aligns with the opportunity to expand access to financial services through technology. Its executive director and head of Asia, Ravi Kaushik, said India’s next investment challenge is helping people manage increasingly complex financial lives as their wealth grows.

The Bigger Picture

India’s wealthtech market is evolving as more people participate in mutual funds, equities and other financial products. The growing investor base creates demand not only for platforms that execute transactions, but also for services that help customers understand risk, allocate capital and manage portfolios over time.

PowerUp is positioning itself around this shift by combining mutual fund research, AI-enabled financial planning and human-led advisory services. Its opportunity lies in making personalised wealth management available to customers who may not qualify for traditional premium advisory services. But the company must demonstrate that its technology can deliver suitable advice, maintain customer trust and generate sustainable revenue.

Looking Ahead

PowerUp plans to use the new funding to expand its AI capabilities, increase the number of relationship managers and develop its broader wealth management platform. Its ability to grow Infinite beyond its current limited customer base and improve Elite Prime’s digital advisory experience will be important milestones.

The company also aims to move towards profitability before accelerating its expansion. Investors will watch subscription growth, managed assets, customer retention and unit economics to determine whether PowerUp can turn its large portfolio-tracking audience into a sustainable wealth management business.
