Pine Labs has partnered with Stripe to help retailers in Singapore manage online and physical-store card payments through a connected payments platform. The service combines Stripe’s online payment infrastructure with Pine Labs’ in-store payment terminals and merchant commerce tools, with the rollout beginning in November 2026.

The partnership addresses a common challenge for large retailers: managing separate payment providers for websites, physical stores, instalment financing and customer loyalty. The companies plan to expand the offering to other Southeast Asian markets in 2027, making Singapore the launch market for the collaboration.

How the Pine Labs-Stripe Partnership Works

Under the arrangement, Stripe will provide online payment processing capabilities, while Pine Labs will support in-store card payments through its point-of-sale terminals.

Eligible retailers will be able to accept online payments through Stripe and process card transactions at physical stores using Pine Labs’ terminals.

The two channels will feed into a more consolidated payment management and reconciliation experience, helping retailers monitor transactions across their digital and physical operations.

The partnership combines the companies’ existing capabilities rather than creating an entirely new payment network.

For retailers, the objective is to reduce the complexity of managing separate technology providers for different sales channels.

What Services Will Retailers Get?

Beyond basic payment acceptance, the partnership will give participating merchants access to Pine Labs’ broader commerce tools.

These include:

  • Instalment payment plans: Customers can access instalment options supported by multiple issuing banks and financial institutions.
  • Loyalty-linked payments: Merchants can connect payment transactions with customer loyalty programmes.
  • Pay-by-points: Eligible customers can use loyalty points towards purchases.
  • Merchant-funded promotions: Retailers can offer discounts and promotional incentives at checkout.
  • Digital marketing tools: Businesses can use instant discounts and promotional campaigns, including cross-border campaigns.
  • In-store payment acceptance: Pine Labs terminals support card, QR-code and contactless payment options.

The additional services are designed to help retailers improve the checkout experience while encouraging repeat purchases.

Why Retailers Need Unified Payments

Retailers operating across physical stores and online platforms often use different payment service providers for each channel.

For example, a company may use one provider to process payments on its website, another to handle card transactions at stores and additional vendors for instalment financing and customer engagement.

This fragmented arrangement can create several operational challenges.

1. Complicated reconciliation

Finance teams may need to collect transaction reports from multiple providers before matching payments with sales records.

A connected platform could simplify this process by bringing information from different channels into a more consolidated view.

2. Delayed reporting

When transaction information is spread across multiple systems, retailers may not have an immediate picture of their overall payment performance.

A unified system can help businesses monitor online and offline transactions more consistently.

3. Higher operational complexity

Managing multiple vendors can increase integration requirements, technology maintenance and administrative work.

By combining payment capabilities through a coordinated platform, Pine Labs and Stripe aim to reduce the number of separate systems retailers need to manage.

Pine Labs Expands Its International Payments Business

The partnership is part of Pine Labs’ broader international expansion strategy.

The company operates across more than 22 markets and provides merchant payments, payment orchestration, issuing, prepaid instruments and credit infrastructure.

As of Q2 FY27, Pine Labs served approximately 11.6 lakh merchants, representing 13% year-on-year growth.

Singapore is an important market for the company’s Southeast Asian expansion. Pine Labs already serves brands in the country, including Courts, iStudio, CapitaLand and FairPrice.

The company also launched a unified merchant platform in Singapore in October 2026, combining payment acceptance, acquiring, instalment plans and customer engagement through its Fave app.

The new Stripe partnership adds another layer to this expansion by connecting Stripe’s online payment infrastructure with Pine Labs’ in-store capabilities.

Pine Labs has also expanded its payment capabilities in the Philippines through a partnership with GCash, one of the country’s major digital wallet providers.

Pine Labs Reports Strong Q2 FY27 Financial Performance

The international expansion comes as Pine Labs reports growth in its financial performance.

According to Inc42, the company’s Q2 FY27 results showed:

Financial metricQ2 FY27
Operating revenue₹806.2 crore
Year-on-year revenue growth24%
Net profit₹38.6 crore
Net profit in Q2 FY26₹6 crore

The increase in net profit reflects improved profitability compared with the year-ago quarter.

Pine Labs’ international business is an important part of its broader growth strategy as it seeks to expand beyond its established Indian merchant payments operations.

The company listed on the BSE and NSE in November 2025, raising capital through its public offering. Its overseas expansion could help diversify its revenue sources and increase its presence in international payment markets.

Stripe Gains a Stronger In-Store Partner

Stripe is widely known for its online payment processing infrastructure, which businesses use to accept and manage digital transactions.

The partnership with Pine Labs provides a route to connect those online capabilities with an established in-store payment terminal network in Singapore.

This is relevant as retailers increasingly expect customers to move between websites, mobile applications and physical stores without encountering disconnected payment experiences.

Rather than requiring merchants to build separate systems for every channel, the partnership combines capabilities from two payment technology providers.

The arrangement also illustrates how fintech companies can collaborate to serve enterprise retailers, even as they compete in parts of the broader payments industry.

Southeast Asia Is the Next Expansion Opportunity

Singapore will serve as the initial market for the joint offering, with expansion to other Southeast Asian countries planned for 2027.

The region has a large and growing digital commerce ecosystem, with retailers increasingly adopting online payments, digital wallets, contactless transactions and integrated commerce platforms.

Expanding the partnership could give Pine Labs access to additional enterprise merchants while allowing Stripe to extend its online payment services into more physical retail environments.

However, the companies have not publicly confirmed the specific countries targeted for the next phase or the number of merchants expected to adopt the solution.

The pace of expansion will depend on local payment regulations, merchant demand, technology integrations and partnerships with financial institutions.

The Bigger Picture

The Pine Labs-Stripe partnership reflects a broader shift in retail payments: businesses increasingly want a connected view of transactions rather than separate systems for online and offline sales.

For Pine Labs, the agreement strengthens its international commerce strategy and adds another global technology partner to its platform. For Stripe, it provides an established in-store payment infrastructure partner in Singapore.

The competitive opportunity extends beyond payment processing. Instalment plans, loyalty programmes, promotional tools and transaction analytics can help payment providers become more deeply integrated into retailers’ daily operations.

Looking Ahead

The immediate focus will be on the November 2026 rollout and how quickly eligible Singapore retailers adopt the joint platform. The companies will also demonstrate the solution at Singapore Fintech Festival 2026. Merchant adoption, transaction volumes and the effectiveness of the consolidated reporting experience will be important indicators of the partnership’s progress.

The planned Southeast Asian expansion in 2027 could give the collaboration a wider regional footprint. If successful, the partnership could strengthen Pine Labs’ position in international merchant payments while giving Stripe a broader route into physical retail transactions. Its long-term impact will depend on whether retailers see measurable improvements in payment management, customer engagement and operating efficiency.
