Century Plyboards (India) Ltd reported strong financial results for the second quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit increasing 51.7% year-on-year to ₹106.28 crore. Revenue from operations grew 28.5% to ₹1,780.04 crore, compared with ₹1,385.53 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Higher revenue, improved profitability and continued demand across its plywood and allied product businesses supported the performance.

The results, approved by the company’s board on November 4, 2026, also showed sequential improvement over the June quarter. Century Plyboards recorded its highest quarterly revenue during the period, while its plywood business remained the largest contributor. However, the company continues to invest in capacity expansion, and its particle board segment is still loss-making despite a reduction in losses.

Century Plyboards Q2 FY27 Results: Key Financial Numbers

The company’s consolidated results showed growth across major financial indicators.

Financial metricQ2 FY27Q2 FY26YoY growth
Revenue from operations₹1,780.04 crore₹1,385.53 crore28.5%
Net profit₹106.28 crore₹70.04 crore51.7%
Profit before tax₹141.21 crore₹97.87 crore44.3%
Profit attributable to owners₹100.75 crore₹68.90 crore46.2%
Earnings per share₹4.53₹3.1046.1%

An important distinction is that consolidated net profit includes the share attributable to non-controlling interests, while profit attributable to owners represents the earnings belonging to the company’s shareholders. This explains why the two profit figures are different.

The company’s revenue increased faster than its profit, but the improvement in earnings indicates that profitability also strengthened during the quarter.

Sequential Performance Improves

Century Plyboards also delivered growth compared with the first quarter of FY27.

Revenue from operations increased 14% from ₹1,561.38 crore in Q1 FY27 to ₹1,780.04 crore in Q2. Consolidated net profit rose 27.6% from ₹83.30 crore to ₹106.28 crore, while profit before tax increased 21.5%.

This sequential improvement suggests that the company maintained business momentum through the September quarter.

The stronger performance is relevant for the building materials industry, where demand can be influenced by housing activity, construction, interior renovation, furniture manufacturing and consumer spending.

Plywood Business Remains the Biggest Revenue Contributor

The plywood and allied products business continued to account for the largest share of Century Plyboards’ revenue.

Its segment generated ₹861.23 crore during Q2 FY27, supported by demand for plywood and related products.

The company’s other business segments also contributed to quarterly revenue.

Business segmentQ2 FY27 revenue
Plywood and allied products₹861.23 crore
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF)₹334.09 crore
Laminates and allied products₹199.36 crore
Particle board₹87.65 crore
Logistics services₹53.86 crore

The figures show that Century Plyboards has a diversified portfolio across several categories of interior and building materials. Plywood remains its largest business, while MDF and laminates provide additional revenue streams.

The company is also attempting to improve the contribution of newer and expanding product categories.

Particle Board Segment Continues to Report Losses

Despite overall revenue growth, the particle board business remains an area that investors will need to monitor.

The segment reported revenue of ₹87.65 crore in Q2 FY27 but continued to record a loss of ₹4.44 crore. This was an improvement compared with the ₹14.61 crore loss reported in the corresponding quarter last year.

The segment’s loss had also narrowed from ₹7.85 crore in Q1 FY27.

The reduction indicates progress towards improving the economics of the business, although the segment has not yet reached profitability.

For manufacturers, particle board operations can be affected by capacity utilisation, raw material availability, production efficiency and pricing competition. A sustained improvement in these factors will be important if the business is to contribute positively to consolidated earnings.

First Half FY27 Performance Remains Strong

Century Plyboards’ performance during the first six months of FY27 also showed healthy growth.

Financial metricH1 FY27H1 FY26YoY growth
Revenue from operations₹3,341.43 crore—30.7%
Net profit₹186.93 crore₹123.87 crore50.9%

The company generated ₹3,341.43 crore in consolidated revenue from operations during the first half, while net profit increased to ₹186.93 crore.

The growth suggests that the September-quarter performance was part of a broader expansion in the company’s business rather than an isolated improvement.
