Gurugram-based home and kitchen appliances startup Nuuk is in discussions to raise around ₹100 crore from Wipro Consumer Care Ventures and RPSG Capital Ventures at a proposed valuation of approximately ₹500 crore, according to a report by Inc42. If completed on the reported terms, the fundraise would mark a significant step in the startup’s expansion plans and strengthen its position in India’s competitive consumer appliances market.
The proposed investment is larger than Nuuk’s previous $6.6 million Series A round, which it closed in August 2025 after an additional $2 million extension from existing investors Vertex Ventures SEA and Good Capital. However, the latest transaction has not been formally announced. The final investment amount and valuation could change as discussions progress, and the companies had not responded to Inc42’s queries at the time of publication.
Nuuk’s Proposed ₹100 Crore Fundraise
Nuuk is reportedly seeking approximately ₹100 crore, equivalent to around $10.5 million, from two investors: Wipro Consumer Care Ventures and RPSG Capital Ventures. The proposed round values the company at roughly ₹500 crore, or approximately $53 million.
The proposed funding would exceed the startup’s previous Series A financing. Nuuk raised $6.6 million in August 2025, including a $2 million extension from existing investors Vertex Ventures SEA and Good Capital.
The latest discussions indicate continued investor interest in consumer brands that develop differentiated products and build their own distribution networks. For Nuuk, the capital could support product development, portfolio expansion and efforts to strengthen its supply chain.
However, the reported transaction remains at the discussion stage. Neither the startup nor the prospective investors had publicly confirmed the deal when Inc42 published its report.
Who Founded Nuuk?
Nuuk was founded in 2023 by Gazal Kalra and Shalabh Gupta.
Kalra previously co-founded Rivigo, the logistics company that became known for its technology-driven trucking and logistics operations. Gupta previously served as the chief growth officer at Noise, the Indian consumer electronics and wearables brand.
The founders are building Nuuk around design-focused home and kitchen appliances. Instead of concentrating on a single product category, the company has developed a portfolio spanning several everyday household needs.
Its products include:
- Cordless vacuum cleaners
- Fans and heaters
- Garment-care appliances
- Air fryers
- Juicers
- Mixer grinders
The company designs its appliances in-house and works with third-party manufacturers to produce them. This approach allows it to focus on product design and brand development while relying on manufacturing partners for production.
Nuuk’s Online and Offline Distribution Strategy
Nuuk sells through multiple channels, including its own website and major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. It has also expanded its presence on quick-commerce platform Blinkit.
The company has entered offline retail as well, including a store in the Delhi-NCR region.
This multi-channel strategy is important in the home appliances market, where customers often research products online but may prefer to examine certain appliances physically before making a purchase.
A wider distribution network could help Nuuk reach customers beyond its direct website and reduce its dependence on any single sales channel. Quick commerce may also provide an additional route for smaller household products that customers want delivered quickly.
If the proposed investment goes through, expanding distribution and increasing brand visibility could become important priorities as Nuuk competes with both established appliance companies and newer consumer brands.
Revenue Reaches ₹16 Crore in FY25
Nuuk recorded a substantial increase in operating revenue in FY25, according to financial information based on its Ministry of Corporate Affairs filings cited by Inc42.
| Financial metric | FY24 | FY25 |
|---|---|---|
| Operating revenue | ₹31.8 lakh | ₹16 crore |
| Net loss | ₹7 lakh | ₹39 lakh |
| Expenses | ₹38.8 lakh | ₹16.4 crore |
FY25 was the company’s first full year of operations. Its operating revenue increased from ₹31.8 lakh in FY24 to approximately ₹16 crore in FY25.
However, the company also reported a higher net loss of ₹39 lakh, compared with ₹7 lakh in the previous financial year. Expenses increased to ₹16.4 crore from ₹38.8 lakh.
The figures indicate that Nuuk expanded its business considerably during its early operating period, but its expenses also increased as it scaled operations.
Revenue growth alone does not establish whether the company has achieved sustainable profitability. Its ability to manage product costs, marketing expenditure, distribution expenses and inventory will be important as it expands.
Domestic Manufacturing Remains an Important Focus
Nuuk has also been working to increase the share of its products manufactured in India.
In March 2025, Shalabh Gupta told Inc42 that around 20% of the company’s products were being manufactured domestically. The company aimed to increase this share to more than 50% by the end of FY26.
The startup uses third-party manufacturers while handling product design internally. Increasing domestic production could help it develop a stronger local supply chain, although the extent of progress against its stated target has not been independently confirmed in the latest funding report.
For consumer appliance startups, manufacturing capabilities can influence product costs, quality control, supply reliability and the ability to introduce new products. Building a wider domestic supplier network could therefore become an important part of Nuuk’s longer-term strategy.
Why Wipro Consumer Care Ventures and RPSG Are Investing in Consumer Brands
The proposed investment brings together two investors with an established interest in consumer-focused businesses.
Wipro Consumer Care Ventures is the venture capital arm of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting. It invests in startups across categories including personal care, beauty and personal care, home care, wellness, food and pet care. Its stated investment approach includes supporting businesses through industry knowledge and operational experience, rather than providing capital alone.
RPSG Capital Ventures is an early-stage consumer-focused investment fund established in 2018. Its investment focus includes business-to-consumer companies across food and beverages, personal care, lifestyle products and services.
Their reported interest in Nuuk reflects the opportunity to back a consumer brand operating in a large and competitive household appliances market.
For investors, the appeal may extend beyond individual products. A brand that can develop a differentiated product portfolio, establish distribution and build customer loyalty could potentially expand into multiple appliance categories.
Competition in India’s Home Appliances Market
Nuuk operates in a market that includes established companies such as Philips and Bajaj, alongside newer consumer brands such as Atomberg and Lifelong.
These companies compete across different appliance categories, from fans and kitchen equipment to cleaning products and other household devices. Customers also have a wide range of products and price points to choose from across online marketplaces and physical retail stores.
For Nuuk, differentiation will be important. Product design, functionality, pricing, reliability and after-sales service can all influence whether customers choose a newer brand over an established manufacturer.
The company will also need to build awareness beyond its initial customer base. Expanding its product range can create opportunities for repeat purchases, but it also increases the complexity of inventory management, quality control and customer support.
The Bigger Picture
Nuuk’s proposed fundraise comes amid continued investor interest in India’s home and kitchen appliance startups. Capital is flowing towards businesses seeking to develop differentiated products, expand manufacturing capabilities and build stronger distribution networks.
Other recent funding activity includes Beyond Appliances, which raised ₹110 crore in a Series B round led by Fireside Ventures in October, and Nester, which raised ₹19 crore in a pre-Series A round in February 2026. Inc42 has also reported that upliance.ai was in advanced discussions to raise $3 million to $4 million in a Series A round.
These developments suggest that investors are exploring opportunities across both conventional household appliances and newer technology-led kitchen products.
However, the sector’s growth potential does not remove the challenges. Appliance brands must manage product development costs, manufacturing quality, returns, warranties and customer acquisition while competing against companies with established distribution networks.
Looking Ahead
The proposed ₹100 crore investment could give Nuuk additional resources to expand its product portfolio, strengthen its domestic supply chain and increase its presence across online, quick-commerce and offline channels. Its ability to translate early revenue growth into a larger and more sustainable business will be an important measure of the investment’s long-term impact.
For now, the funding remains under discussion, and the final deal value and valuation could change. Investors and the wider consumer technology industry will be watching for an official announcement and further details about how Nuuk plans to use the capital as it competes in India’s home appliances market.
