Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has entered into partnerships with Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Limited and Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) to manufacture fuselage structures for India’s indigenous Prachand Light Combat Helicopter (LCH). The agreements will add two production lines to the programme and expand the domestic industrial base supporting one of India’s most important combat-helicopter projects.
Under the new arrangements, BEML will manufacture 48 Prachand fuselage structures, while Adani Defence will produce 42, taking the total covered by the partnerships to 90 fuselages. HAL said the move represents the first integration of private industry into the manufacturing of helicopter fuselage structures in India and is aimed at increasing production capacity and supporting timely deliveries to the Indian Armed Forces.
HAL Brings Adani Defence and BEML Into Prachand Production
The Prachand LCH programme is being expanded through a broader Indian manufacturing network.
HAL remains the prime manufacturer and designer of the helicopter, while Adani Defence and BEML will take responsibility for manufacturing fuselage structures.
